At Global Witness we exist to change the system.
We believe that the climate crisis is one-sided and the side that holds all the cards is big business and the side that bears the brunt of their work: ordinary people often thousands of miles away.
It's some of the world’s largest timber exporters secretly supporting Peru’s illegal loggers while in 2021 alone 200 people were killed standing up for their communities protecting their land.
It’s Western businesses condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but still trading and investing in Russian oil. While Ukrainian people suffer, and the cost-of-living crisis continues.
It’s big business saying one thing while doing another. We want to make them stop.
Through our investigations, advocacy, and communications our vision is to redress the balance so communities can speak out and it’s the end of business as usual for giant corporations.
To be truly effective we’re evolving and expanding our approach as a People team and we’re now looking for a creative and innovative People Partner to support Global Witness in realising its vision.
Reporting to the Director of People and Impact, as our new People Partner you’ll be a trusted advisor to the Campaigns leadership community, influencing and driving positive change. You’ll lead the identification, design and implementation of strategies that develop our people management practices and promote a thriving and inclusive workplace culture.
This is a newly created role for Global Witness and we are looking for a talented HR professional with proven experience of working as an HR Business Partner/ People Partner. In addition to your sound knowledge of a wide range of human resources disciplines including talent attraction and development, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, organisational development, reward and recognition and employee engagement, you’ll also ideally have a track record in developing new approaches to people practice and supporting an organisation’s People goals through your ability to design and implement projects and initiatives.
If you are a strategic thinker with the ability to connect the dots and immerse yourself in the perspective of stakeholders, with a talent for unravelling and solving complex problems, then we would love to hear from you!
