Greenpeace UK is an independent national/regional organisation within the global Greenpeace campaigning network, which acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. The global network of Greenpeace organisations comprises 26 independent national/regional Greenpeace organisations with presence in over 55 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, as well as a coordinating and supporting organisation, Greenpeace International.

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a real customer focus, a strong HR administration background and the ability to thrive in a busy team environment.

Part of a team providing high-quality support for staff and line managers, you will be the first point of contact for day to day HR queries – giving guidance and information on HR policies & procedures, terms & conditions, etc., and managing data systems and reporting.

It will be your responsibility to support all employee lifecycle processes, including carrying out new starter inductions, providing advice and administration for employee benefits, producing contractual documentation, monitoring temporary appointments and the probationary process, and conducting leaver processes.

Location: Islington, London. Our hybrid working model enables us to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. We ask that staff work from the office in Islington 40% of their time, with 20% required as a minimum. Reasonable adjustments as well as specific office based needs will be considered for those with long term health conditions and disabilities.

Job requirements

You'll have:

  • Substantial experience of HR administration and support across the employee lifecycle.
  • HR database administration experience, including data management, user support and reporting.
  • Customer service experience, with a strong drive to deliver a quality service.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage and develop effective administration systems and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build good working relationships.
  • Very good IT skills across the MS Office suite.
  • The numeracy skills to make accurate salary and leave calculations.
  • An understanding of equality and diversity principles and how they apply in an HR context
