Job Details
Working on a hybrid basis, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of schools and be there to provide support and guidance to your stakeholders as needed (with an onsite presence essential as and when needed).
Working to the Head of HR Business Partnering, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and continuing to develop a great HR service to schools in the Borough. This role is also fundamental l in managing high volume ER case work and coaching and supporting managers, enabling them to have difficult conversations.
As part of this People Business Partnering team you will collaborate across the wider organisation to deliver strategic and operational projects that explicitly benefit the Borough's residents.
The Council will consider this as an interim role, secondment, fixed term contract or a role subject to discussion.
The successful candidate will be working in a similar role for another Local Authority or perhaps be currently employed by a School or Academy and have experience and skills as below:
1. You will have extensive knowledge and experience of working within the Local Government, the education sector or specifically schools and providing a consultancy approached HR service.
2. You will have a sound and detailed knowledge and understanding of HR best practice, employment law and organisational change as well as the ability to coach and support managers to increase management capability within the Schools.
3. You will know how to communicate effectively and be able to tailor your responses to ensure that appropriate advice is given to the varying organisations within your portfolio and be able to develop excellent relationships with Headteachers, Schools Leaders, Managers and stakeholders in a variety of contexts.
4. You will be to work independently with minimal supervision whilst being aware of when it is appropriate to consult with the colleagues.
You will ideally be CIPD qualified or have substantial demonstrable work experience that evidences an equivalent level of attainment and competence.
