Your new role
Reporting directly to the Lead Recruitment Adviser, your role and responsibilities will include:

* Managing recruitment campaigns end-to-end, providing guidance to managers and candidates, planning campaign timetables and advising on advertising, job descriptions, assessment and selection methods, acting as the first point of contact for recruitment queries.
* Ensuring that the recruitment policies are consistently applied, updating guidance, ensuring that candidates are kept informed of the progress of their application, making formal offers to successful candidates, drafting letters of appointment, employment contracts and other relevant documentation.
* Maintain recruitment and candidate data on the e-recruitment system Talos, running reports and identifying trends to contribute to planning processes, recommend improvements to recruitment processes and to contribute to reporting requirements including in response to Freedom of Information requests.
* Conducting on-boarding activities for new starters, maintaining compliance with UKVI regulations, conducting appropriate reference and other checks, liaising with the candidate and line manager and ensuring that induction activities are carried out effectively.
* Support annual activities including the academic promotions process and peak recruitment activity periods, taking responsibility for planning your workload and that of others effectively, monitoring progress and mitigating risks.
* Collaborate within the Recruitment team and the wider HR team, balancing the short-term needs of individual recruitment campaigns with longer-term project work, leading on projects as required.
* Deliver briefing sessions, training courses and drop-ins for recruiting managers on recruitment processes, Talos and VT systems, and running events for prospective candidates (internal and external) as required.

What you\'ll need to succeed

* Experience of providing managers and others with timely and comprehensive advice and guidance on policies and procedures
* Demonstrable understanding of recruitment and selection legislation, processes and the importance of diversity and inclusion
* Proven ability to use an e-recruitment system or a comparable HR information system or customer database, entering data accurately
* Proven ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing to a diverse range of people at all levels
* Proven track record of persuading others to adopt a particular approach, sometimes at a senior level
* Demonstrable ability to analyse and identify options to solve problems and come up with improvements to processes
* Demonstrable experience of having worked as an effective team member, supporting and motivating others
