We are embarking on a transformative journey to redefine how our teams learn and thrive. Rooted in our values of learning, people, and sustainability, we are committed to fostering a culture of excellence that drives our collective success.

As a pivotal member of our team, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our workforce and organisational culture. Reporting directly to the Director of People, you will provide comprehensive generalist HR support rooted in best practice within the profession. You'll also spearhead strategic initiatives, analyse data insights, and drive engagement across the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will encompass (but not limited to):

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to line managers on complex casework, performance management, attendance, and employee relation issues.
  • Support the roll-out of change initiatives, ensuring line managers receive the necessary guidance and support.
  • Lead by example by fostering a commitment to your own CPD to ensure that both you, the people team, and wider college stay up to date with best people practices, trends, and legislations.
  • Create learning pathways for the college which support the College’s strategic aims.
  • Ensure that the College remains compliant in all safeguarding activities.
  • Talent and work-force management at all levels within the college.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the operational implementation of people initiatives.
  • Analyse and interpret data to highlight trends to inform people initiatives.

As a key member of a passionate and motivated people department who are all aligned in their ambition to raise the bar across the profession, you will be an expert in people related matters that takes pride in their own continual development across a range of people focused areas.

We are seeking a people professional who possesses not only a comprehensive understanding of employment law but also values the significance of emotional intelligence and behavioral science. This individual will adeptly apply these skills to cultivate meaningful relationships with stakeholders across all levels, effectively influencing outcomes.

Interview Dates: Successful applicants will be invited to interview at the College on Monday 25th March 2024.

Please note that as part of our commitment to safeguarding our students, our background screening checks include limited online searches. Online searches will only be undertaken in respect of the successful candidate, as a pre-conditional term of our job offer.

Safeguarding our students is of paramount importance. Our recruitment process has been designed to keep students safe and to ensure that we appoint safe and suitable people.

All successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment background and safeguarding checks.

The successful applicant will be responsible for complying with all safeguarding policies and practices, and for ensuring student safety and wellbeing is at the forefront of everything they do.

This post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

We are an equal opportunity employer; we want all our candidates to have a fair and equal opportunity to secure employment with us. We encourage applications from all underrepresented groups: BAME applicants, disabled applicants, and LGBT+ applicants.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, due to a disability, then please speak with a member of the People team.

As a disability confident employer, we commit to guaranteeing an interview for any disabled applicant who meets all of the essential criteria.
