This is an exceptional opportunity to join the executive leadership of UnLtd, the leading provider of funding and support to social entrepreneurs in the UK.
Social entrepreneur support is the heart and soul of UnLtd: we are all about realising human potential in service of social progress. Our values are to be brave, inclusive and accountable. Our support offer spans personal development, organisational development and market development. Our operating principles are to foster impact, inclusion, collaboration, learning and organisational health.
We are now elevating our thinking and practice about people and culture to match our mission, values, strategy, support offer and operating principles. We will bring the same energy, investment and focus on people and organisational development to ourselves as we do to our social entrepreneur support.
We have created this Director of People and Culture role to lead this change with the CEO, board and executive team. You will put inclusive leadership at the heart of the organisation and foster a culture of belonging and aspiration. Our Breaking Down Barriers strategy requires us to find, fund and support the most impactful social entrepreneurs, while dismantling the barriers they face. To succeed, we need to drive sector change on equity and inclusion rooted in our own practice.
You’ll bring a strategic perspective while relishing a hands-on HR role in a fast-paced environment. You will have full accountability for the performance of People and Culture at UnLtd including our employee value proposition, our EDIB ambitions and action plan, our workforce planning, and the development and management of our HR team.
You will be a highly inclusive, excellent people leader, engaging, coaching and inspiring a hybrid nationwide team of diverse and talented folk. You will create and nurture an inclusive culture and environment. You will build a programme and ethos of progression and continuous learning. You will foster outstanding employee engagement, reward and wellbeing to make us an employer of choice.
Our commitment to EDI is core to this role. You will define, deliver and report on our EDIB ambitions.

Enterprising People With Solutions
"More people than ever are stepping up to tackle the world’s problems. Could you be one of them?"
About Us
UnLtd finds, funds and supports social entrepreneurs - enterprising people with solutions that change our society for the better. We were formed in 2002 by seven organisations who believed that social entrepreneurs had a much bigger contribution to make to our economy and society. We were among the first to back individuals with their own ideas to create social good.
UnLtd’s core start up awards are funded by the income generated from an endowment from the Millennium Commission. This legacy is carefully invested so that it generates income to fund our awards for years to come.
Since we were founded, we have learned a lot about what is needed for social entrepreneurs to create the change they want to see. We have grown our support beyond our core awards, helping to accelerate the impact of scaling ventures. We have identified areas where we are well placed to create change, and focused our efforts where it can make the biggest difference. We have identified barriers faced by social entrepreneurs and look to tackle them through research, policy work and our campaigns. And we have realised that we cannot do it alone, seeking committed partners and funders who share our vision.
