Trusted principal advisor to Chief Officer People and OD, working closely with them and deputising for them in providing strategic managerial leadership and direction, shaping and facilitating delivery of organisational objectives.

This exciting role at Avon and Somerset Police will encompass day to day organisational change experience, as well as transformational OD and delivery. There will be line management responsibility for the Head of HR Operations and the Head of OD departments.

This role is critical in helping achieve ASP ambitions around culture change, performance improvement, ensuring people are supported to achieve their potential and deliver a fantastic public service.

We are looking to appoint a collaborative and highly creative senior HR professional, who can act with impartiality, integrity and transparency and who can confidently deliver a change making agenda. A leader who has a reputation for implementing excellence, demonstrable change, and who can drive a clear strategy, with the HR knowledge to back themselves up in a complex setting where there is a high level of public interest. Avon and Somerset Police is performing well, but there is always more we can do to engage our staff and the public as a result. You will also have the skill and confidence to take people at all levels with you, mobilising and empowering the whole workforce to build momentum and implement bold, innovative and imaginative change.
