Head of Human Resources

The Head of Human Resources (HR) will lead a team of HR professionals to deliver high-quality HR services to the London Diocesan Fund leaders and employees as well as office holders and church leaders across the wider Diocese, collaborating with others to ensure a trusted and high-performing HR service that supports the diocesan vision. Working closely with the Director of People, the Head of HR will drive the people strategy to foster a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace, whilst enabling organisational capability through proactive leadership, quality systems, and continuous learning for team members.

You will lead the development and delivery of a trusted and high performing HR service to the London Diocesan Fund and the wider Diocese through a team of professionals, working collaboratively with others to enhance organisational capability. Working closely with the Director of People, you will ensure that the People Strategy is implemented in a way that enables a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace, where everyone thrives and contributes positively to the diocesan vision.

The Diocese of London is the group of Church of England organisations located in North London. It comprises of c400 parishes north of the River Thames and within the M25 motorway, and also includes, schools, chaplaincies, missional communities, and other organisations.

The LDF is the employment body and the central team that serves and supports the Diocese of London.

To succeed in your application, you will have a significant track record of leading HR operations, supporting the workforce planning and delivering effective services. You will be a qualified CIPD member or equivalent, with experience in generalist HR. As an excellent communicator you will be skilled at building sound working relationships with colleagues, both paid and volunteers. You will have empathy for Christian values and embody them in your daily work
