UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is on a mission to protect clean sport and currently has an exciting opportunity available for you to join us.

We’re looking to recruit a People Officer joining the Business Services Directorate to play an active role in delivering a proactive and flexible people focussed service.

You will be part of the People Team, delivering and developing a centralised, high performing people focussed function, responsible for the delivery of UKAD’s current and future people strategy.  You will be responsible for providing appropriate advice and support to UKAD’s workforce on all People related matters, including recruitment and onboarding, learning and development, policies, engagement and benefits.

Key result areas include

  • Coordinate with hiring managers the planning and deploying of effective recruitment campaigns, including review of job descriptions, job adverts, appropriate routes for advertising and interview process
  • Review, analyse and monitor recruitment data to ensure successful campaigns
  • To work closely with the People Manager regarding employment administration and relevant checks, ensuring legally compliant contractual arrangements with staff, reflecting current legislation
  • Coordinate and contribute to ensuring a smooth and effective onboarding experience for all new starters
  • Coordinate probation periods, working with People Manager to provide appropriate advice to employees and managers in relation to this process
  • Assist the People Manager to develop and evolve the L&D offering for all employees and workers, including e-learning requirements and enhancing individual’s skillset
  • Provide day to day people related support to the workforce including managers, employees and workers, providing advice and support in relation to performance/capability, attendance, disciplinary or grievance
  • Manage the Administrator tool for SelectHR database and the administration of internal systems
  • Assist People Manager and Head of People with updates to employee handbook and people related policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with best practice and employment legislation
  • Working with People Manager, coordinate Employee surveys and results to form an evolving action plan
  • Ensure payroll related changes are made in accordance with the contractual and statutory framework before working closely with the finance team
  • Provide support to People Manager and Head of People where required for upcoming and future projects to ensure the delivery of the people strategy

Person specification Qualifications/experience/knowledge

  • Associate CIPD qualified (desirable)
  • Experience in a People/HR Team implementing policies and procedures and advising on employee relations issues
  • Experience in providing consistent and accurate People Related advice and guidance
  • Experience of working with people/HR databases and payroll data including pension administration
  • Experience of coordinating recruitment and onboarding Experience of managing sensitive and confidential information Mental Health First Aider qualified or willing to work towards


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to communicate with people at all levels of understanding
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement, with a pro-active approach to problem solving
