Job Details
Working for the local council in their HR department.
Permanent Part Time (22.2 hours per week) with a range of flexibilities, including hybrid working.
Your new role
This council takes their Equality Duties seriously, but they want to go further than that, including seeking more feedback from our communities and workforce to inform our equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policies and practices and ensuring that members and employees fully understand and can contribute to making our EDI aspirations a reality.
We've therefore established a new role, based within the Human Resources Team, but with a focus on both outward and inward facing EDI priorities. The postholder will be our go-to person for all things EDI, advising members and employees, reviewing and updating policies and guidance and commissioning and undertaking training. They will also lead and contribute to projects, working closely with colleagues across the Council and ensuring that the impact of our EDI-related actions are measured and we continuously improve.
What you\'ll need to succeed
We're looking for someone with excellent EDI knowledge and experience, who has a track record of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to drive forward, implement and evaluate a wide range of interventions to positively promote and support EDI. This includes being able to conduct equalities impact assessments and advise others on good practice. You'll have outstanding influencing skills and an ability to empathise and support but also challenge when you need to.
Strong organisation and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to utilise a range of data to inform decision making and evaluate the outcome of actions taken. Previous experience of working within a public sector and unionised environment is helpful, but not essential.
What you\'ll get in return
Great rate of pay
Hybrid working
Pension contribution
Holiday allowance
and some other excellent benefits to be discussed.
