We are recruiting an Interim Director of People and Culture for an initial period of 6 months to join a world-renowned arts centre located in the heart of London's vibrant cultural quarter. This organisation manages several notable venues and hosts a wide variety of events each year, including festivals, art exhibitions, music concerts, readings, dances, debates, and comedy shows, with a mission to champion greatness in art and take the lead in provoking and inspiring culture.



Over the last three years, the organisation has grown back up to pre-Covid levels of 500+ staff, is in a strong operating position and has proven its overall capability to respond to the challenges facing all arts organisations with reduced funding, high inflation and pressures on the cost of living.



As we enter into the next phase of growth and ambition, we are looking for an Interim Director of People and Culture who will lead and deliver the people strategy, championing a forward-looking and inclusive working environment as we align our diverse talent and expertise to reach our organisational and strategic objectives. Reporting to into the Chief Executive and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will lead a Human Resources team of 10, with direct reports of Head of People Operations, Head of Culture and Head of ER & IR.



To succeed in this role, you will be an activator and facilitator for positive change, open-minded and approachable, with an ability to make things happen. You will be a strong generalist and an advocate for workforce training and development, building capability and promoting collaboration across the organisation. You will be confident in leading a high performing People team with responsibility for Culture, EDI, Internal Comms & Engagement, L&D, People Operations & Experience, Employee relations, Industrial relations, Policy and Governance.

This is a full time role with a hybrid arrangement of minimum 3 days in the office.
