The Palace of Westminster is home to one of the busiest and most historic parliamentary institutions in the world and is an enduring symbol of our national identity. As one of the top 5 most recognisable buildings in the world, the Palace is visited by millions of tourists each year.

The Houses of Parliament Restoration & Renewal Programme has been set up to tackle all the work necessary to protect and preserve this UNESCO World Heritage site. It will be the biggest renovation of an historic building ever undertaken in the UK.

The Palace of Westminster, home of Parliament, is one of the most loved and recognised buildings in the world, but it’s falling apart faster than it can be fixed and is in urgent need of repair. Our mission is to save the Palace and create a working home for parliamentary democracy for generations to come.

The Restoration and Renewal Programme will create a variety of employment opportunities throughout the lifecycle of the project, from programme management and corporate services through to design, engineering, specialist trades and conservation roles. Our teams in the Sponsor Body and the Delivery Authority are working on a fascinating project to build a historic legacy for generations to come.
