The Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan, Delivery and Reform (DPENDR), on behalf of the Irish Civil Service, is partnering with Career Returners to launch the Civil Service ARC (Assisted Return to Career) Programme. This programme aims to support those who have taken time out of work for at least 2 years to re-launch their careers, update their skills, and gain experience in a supportive environment.

The central objective of the ARC Programme is to promote a more inclusive labour market for skilled workers seeking a return to work following a break in their career. This is achieved through the provision of paid and mentored work placements, with participating employers in the Civil Service.

Successful applicants will be placed in one of the following Civil Service organisations for the duration of their placement:

  • Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth;
  • Department of Defence;
  • Department of Social Protection;
  • Public Appointments Service;
  • Office of the Revenue Commissioners;

Opportunities are available for candidates with skills and experience in the following specialist areas:

  • HR,
  • ICT,
  • Finance & Accounting

In addition DPENDR and Career Returners will host an online information and engagement event on the ARC Programme on Thursday 13th June at 10.00am. You can register your interest in attending here:

Further information on the programme and the required qualifications are outlined in the information booklet.

We are committed to a policy of equal opportunity and encourage applications under all nine grounds of the Employment Equality Act.
