Director of People and Culture
Location: Blaenau Gwent
Salary: £85,093 plus benefits
As a creative Organisational and Development professional, do you feel frustrated that you have the ideas but not the space to express them?
Are you thrilled by seeing colleagues thrive and grow because you have enabled the development of inspiring leaders where you work?
For you, is the culture of an organisation the starting point for going from good to great?
Do you want to have fun at work?
Then Tai Calon needs you, and you need Tai Calon.
Tai Calon does all the stuff you would expect of a housing association, and that alone is inspiring if you want to be part of somewhere that makes a difference. So:
- We have almost 6,000 homes, making us the biggest provider of affordable homes in Blaenau Gwent. We put our customers at the centre of what we do, seeking to drive the highest level of satisfaction in Tai Calon. We are a large local employer with more than 280 trained and dedicated people. We have the money to develop many more affordable homes. We aspire to make a significant positive environmental impact in all that we do, and most notably with the homes we look after.
And that is all great, but we have one more thing. Tai Calon has an inspiring Vision, a fundamental reason why we exist. “Tai Calon exists to INSPIRE ITS PEOPLE to go beyond affordable housing and create vibrant communities across Blaenau Gwent.” If that vision inspires you like it does us, then this could be the opportunity for you.
If it isn’t obvious from the above, you will be joining a people-led organisation which is incredibly proud of its culture. Our CALON values: Creativity, Authenticity, Learning, Ownership, and ‘Not on your own’, are firmly embedded at the heart of our work. You will be leading a high performing team which includes Human Resources, Organisational Development, and Communications.
Unlikely if you have got this far with this advert, but if you’re solely inspired by policies and procedures, then this probably is not the role for you! You will be a people professional radiating inspiring examples of crafting positive creative cultures. You will be able to enthuse us with how you have made a success of engagement and creativity. You will be obsessed with the importance of trust as our foundation for Tai Calon’s future success.

Tai Calon is a community mutual organisation, a limited company and registered charity.
