Job Details

We have an opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor / Employer Relations Advisor to join a busy HR & People team who are supporting a national organisation with employees and volunteers across the UK. This role is an interim assignment to start asap through to 31st Dec 2024 as an initial contract.
As an ER Advisor, you will be supporting managers across the UK with a variety of advice and guidance on all aspects of employer relations. Key duties include : -

* Ensure that all casework and employee relations activities (including disciplinary, grievance, poor performance, attendance, and probation) are actioned in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring a timely conclusion to all cases.
* Support with the management of all litigation cases including Employment Tribunals and Personal Injury claims, working in partnership with relevant internal and external stakeholders to gather and prepare evidence, witness statements and supporting individuals through the process.
* To form effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, which includes, but is not limited to: the Legal Department, Trade Union Representatives, managers and employees.
* Monitor and maintain up-to-date casework Management Information (MI), identifying trends and risks whilst proactively identifying solutions. Support the production of accurate monthly reports to the HR Employee Relations Manager
* Work closely with managers and HR colleagues to review case outcome recommendations and, if relevant, any actions are carried out promptly and in accordance with procedures including but not limited to; payroll notifications, warnings, mediation, training.
* Provide training and refresher training when required for responsible investigation, decision and appeal managers and provide support to managers as and when required.

Candidates

* Demonstrable up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR experience, including casework management.
* Experience of advising on a range of employer relations case work across - grievance, disciplinary, sickness, absence, performance, probation
* CIPD qualification (Level 5) or be willing to work towards it.
* The ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior managers and external service providers.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage shifting priorities.

The Offer

* The role is offered on an interim / temporary contract via Hays to start asap until 31st of December 2024.
* 5 days per week / 37.5 hours
* 3 days on site in Southampton / 2 from home / 60% of working time at home
* A professional and friendly environment in Southampton near a train station.
