Our newly formed HR Policy, Reward & Relations team provides an exciting Leadership opportunity for an experienced HR professional to drive transformational change, which will shape the future of the organisation by delivering first class business focused solutions.  Whilst operationally focused this is a unique opportunity to also set strategy across the key areas and build a high performing team.

Working to fulfil our People Strategy you will play a critical role in delivering against the Reward, Voice & Belonging themes, as well as working with your colleagues to contribute to all six themes, as part of the People & Culture Leadership team.

As Head of the function, you will be responsible for leading the Senior Reward Adviser and Senior HR Adviser in their management of the team to provide effective service delivery and achieve required outcomes.  This will require you to balance business as usual with change and improvement.  As a team we have high ambition to make a real impact across our workforce at pace.

Who you are:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced HR professional with a proven track record of delivering HR solutions and leading a high performing team. We are looking for candidates who:

•             Are self-motivated and driven;

•             Can work collaboratively across People & Culture to achieve desired outcomes;

•             Have attention to detail with the ability to analyse and effectively harness HR data, while always considering the use of technology to ensure efficiency;

•             Demonstrate an ability to network successfully with a capacity to benchmark to support business case and decision making;

•             Ideally are GLPC and Hay scheme trained – training can be provided;

•             Use strong negotiation and influencing skills to achieve successful outcomes;

•             Think creatively with an ability to turn ideas into tangible outcomes.

Overall, you will play an important role in leading the team to:

•             Shape and enhance our reward programme to support our people and contribute to their overall wellbeing and job satisfaction, and to attract, motivate and retain top talent within the organisation. This will include modernising our terms and conditions and promoting and developing our Benefits Platform.

•             Develop our job evaluation approach with a current focus on our job architecture and a desire to move to a job family framework.  Refining processes to maximise our ability to be agile to support changing organisational needs and staff development.

•             Review and modernise our HR policies, ensuring they align and reflect the organisations direction of travel and mindset and embedding the restorative approach described in our People Strategy.

•             Develop and implement an approach to employee relations that is fit for purpose and fosters a collaborative approach to achieving the best outcomes for the organisation and its people.  Maintaining constructive relations with our trade union colleagues will be fundamental.

•             Undertake essential business as usual activity including statutory reporting, such as Data Transparency and Gender Pay Gap reporting. It is important that these activities are delivered in an efficient and productive way.
